The Challenge
DataBridge's analytics team was spending half their week just pulling data from different systems and stitching it together in spreadsheets before they could answer a single business question. They had Salesforce, HubSpot, Stripe, their own PostgreSQL database, and 8 other sources — none of which talked to each other. Leadership wanted a single dashboard they could check each morning without asking the data team for help.

How We Built It
We designed a unified data layer using Kafka for real-time event streaming and a set of lightweight connector services — one per source system — that normalise data into a shared schema. On top of that we built a React dashboard with Recharts visualisations, configurable by each team without writing code. Role-based access control ensures finance sees financials and sales sees pipeline, and nothing more.

Results
- 12 data sources unified into a single schema with < 5 second lag
- Dashboard load time under 2 seconds even with 5M+ daily events
- Analytics team reclaimed ~20 hours per week previously spent on data wrangling
- Non-technical stakeholders check the dashboard daily — no analyst required
- System processed its first billion events 3 months post-launch with zero incidents
